I remember being 12 or 13 years old and spending the night with Don. He must have had school the next day and I had the day off for some reason so I was with Uncle Arn. I had been saving to buy my first bow after shooting Don's at the farm. I had $120 saved up so Uncle Arn and I went to the Kmart store in Lake Orion. We walked back to the sporting goods department and I remember him telling the person in charge of sporting goods, "this young man has $120 to buy that bow". It was a Bear Polar LTD which was a pretty nice bow at the time. The price was $119.99, Of course I had not thought about tax at that age. The manager came back with the price worked out to be exactly $120 and I bought my first hunting bow. I still have that bow hanging with my current bow and other hunting equipment in the basement. Every time I see that bow I remember that day. Thank you for all of the great memories Uncle Arn.

Arnie Walker was a good friend to our church in Lapeer, to WMPC, and to me personally. He helped make everyone welcome as he greeted people here at Calvary. I'm glad he was able to enjoy his dream of starting a whitetail farm but we have sure missed him at our church. I'm thankful I could be one of his pastors. -- Arnold Bracy, Lapeer

Message from Don Van Dyke - May 04 at 02:11 PM

God Bless You, Sally and All Ye Many Loved Ones of the one and only Arn Walker! I can see Arn right now planting a big kiss on Jesus and saying, "Hey Baby!" And Jesus saying back, "I've heard so many prayers from you I'm glad to finally see you face to face - welcome to your new body and new home!" I have never known a man who so wonderfully combined both truth and love. You never had to wonder what Arn believed about anything, but once you were his friend he loved you no matter what and never, ever stopped praying for you. Let us all stand on his shoulders of example in being a witness for Christ no matter who we are with or what the circumstance. AND, let us all be sure we will see Arn again by having repented of our sins and have come to trust Christ completely for our salvation. We are all glad to have known Arn in this life - let us be sure we do not miss him in the next!! So sorry I cannot be with you this weekend because I am helping a church in Oscoda on the weekends. Blessings and comfort to you all. Don Van Dyke
