Shirl will always be remembered as a true "Jenningsite." We spent our latter years of high school together. Rest in peace. Our thoughts to Richard, Louie and Barb as well as kids, grandkids and family. Sincerely, Vern & Mignon (Klaviter) Alworden.

What a funny story about her! I can see her falling asleep in class....so funny! Thank you for sharing! Yes, I am sure that had a glorious reunion. I would've loved to have seen it!Sincerely, Tracy (Eising) Cinco (daughter)

Hello Eising family my mame is Tom Whetter I write articles for the Missaukee Sentinel. On Sept. 2. 2011 I had the occasion to write Shirley's life story for the newspaper. I enjoyed meeting with Shirley an hearing her story. She gave me an old poem named "Ballad of the Ghost Town and the Finns." I thank her for that and I've talked about the poem many times.

Sitting behind Shirley in Mr. LaGrone's Senior Government class. Shirl made me promise if she fell asleep to poke her in the back if Mr. LaGrone started walking up our row. We always laughed because we were certain Mr. LaGrone knew when she fell asleep and that I always would poke her to wake her up. Two wonderful people in my life, I will always have fond memories of. Rest in peace. You and Vern have a wonderful reunion.
