Mike was the nicest teacher. He always accepted my ‘at risk’ students into his classroom and treated them respectfully and with compassion. Gloria and family, sending sympathy. He will be missed.
Message from Dirk Besko - May 15 at 11:46 AM

Some of my best memories of coaching basketball at St. Johns High School was traveling to Ionia to take on the Bulldogs! What a great rivalry we had over the years, but the thing I always looked forward to the most was seeing the scorekeeper at the game. That person was Michael Dryer! He always took the time to ask about the team and how I was doing! My memories over the years will never be forgotten as a coach and then when I retired and was able to see him in Lake City! Our thoughts and prayers are with the family! Dirk Besko

Message from Robert Hahn - May 19 at 05:11 PM

I just received word from my sister Roberta that Mike had passed away. I have thought of him often through the years and asked about him many times. I remember our growing up together in Lake City during the summer. The fishing and playing in the park. But mostly it was the cottage kids against the trailer kids and then the Baptist group on Sunday afternoon softball in the park. I will treasure those times forever. His friend Bob Hahn

Sending prayers and deepest sympathy to the family. Reading these memories makes my heart smile. He was obviously an amazing guy who was adored by many. I didn’t know him, unfortunately, but I had the chance to talk to him briefly in his car while we waited on emergency services last week. I will never forget him.
