My memories are mostly of the dairy, I knew Don but not closely. We purchased milk from Ardis Dairy when they still delivered milk to the homes every day. Some times in the winter the milk would set outside, freeze and push the cardboard cap up so you had a good 1/2 inch of cream sticking out of the bottle. At that time there were 2 dairies in Lake City, Ardis and Green's, one of them had a slogan on the bottle that read "We came to visit not to stay, return our bottles every day." The memories the Ardis family gave to so many people in Lake City are truly good ones. May God Bless Don on his journey home. God will take care of the family he left behind, that is His promise.

Our deepest sympathies for the best dairy-farming family in Michigan. We will be always thankful to Don for making us feel welcome and that we were coming home in some way. We will be thinking of the many wonderful memories of him and looking forward to remembering him long into the future. Thoughts and prayers are with all of the Ardis families. Though I know Uncle Don is in a much better place he'll be missed by all. Don, John, and Grandpa are probably rounding up the cows in heaven for milking about now and Helen and Grandma are telling them to take their shoes off when they come in. We love and miss you all. Take care of Don and we'll all take care of the rest of the family here on earth
