Duane Lee Hejnal, age 61 of Lake City passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2015
at the Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.

He was born December 1, 1954 in Cadillac to Donald and Ilene (Hower) Hejnal.

Duane graduated from Lake City High School and liked music and enjoyed visiting with friends and family. He like his horses and dogs and always enjoyed gardening. He liked to can; meat and everything.

He is survived by a daughter, Sarah Calvetti and his grandson, Coen of Lake City, his mother Ilene Musselman, a brother, Dean (Diane) Hejnal and nieces, Lisa and Laura all of Manton. Duane is also survived by step brothers and sisters: Dawn (Pat) Vaughan of Cadillac, Gale (Joel) Hoekwater of Lake City, John (Maria) Musselman of Florida, Ron Musselman and Don (Cindy) Musselman both of Lake City and many nieces and nephews.

Duane was preceded in death by his father, Donald Hejnal, step father, John Musselman and step sister, Connie Masserang and grandparents, Anton and Anna Hejnal and Leonard and Alice Hower.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 28, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Young Funeral Home with Rev. Donald VanDyke officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm until the time of service.

Burial will take place in the Lake City Cemetery.
