Message from Deborah Dorney - January 22, 2015 at 08:29 PM

I am so sorry to hear this news. I have wonderful memories of being on the farm, riding horses, playing MI Rummy with all the Beckers. It was just the best being at their home. The home cooking and laughter will never leave my mind. You all made going "up north" so very special. He will be very missed. God bless the family with comforting thoughts and beautiful memories. Deb and Olen Dorney

My first memory of Uncle Merritt was after a dance at Star City. He and Buddy Kippen were sitting in the dinning area at our farm in Merritt. they were playing and singing while Mom was fixing breakfast. It must have been 3 or 4 o'clock in the morning. Such good times and great memories he gave all of us

May God be your comfort during this time of sorrow. Mom, Carol Luce Duddles, always spoke so lovingly of your family. She also mentioned that Merritt may have had dents on his head from her dinner bucket when they were "kids" ! The community will miss this wonderful man. from daughters of Carol Shetenhelm Duddles

Deb, the memories of your parents coming over and playing tripoly are among the most treasured. I loved your parents and all the fun we all had. The hayrides, card playing, BBQs and the laughter.

Uncle Merritt just would not sit down at a dance. He would wear all the girls out and keep on going. So sorry to read of his passing. I'm sure he knew all of you were there and now he can also be with Pat. God Bless.
