Message from Patriacia Fenby Luckow - March 31, 2016 at 09:24 PM

I just found out that Max has passed away. Very sorry to hear that. I am a cousin that Max visited here in Swan Lake Mt. We enjoyed him and Teresa coming to a few of our family reunions. I would like to hear how Teresa is. last time I heard from him he said she wasn't doing well. He wrote that they couldn't come to our reunion last Aug. I didn't know he was ill. Would like hear from someone. He sure looks like my Grandpa Milt Fenby. My email isTrishaj@cyberport.net We enjoyed meeting him and Teresa. Our love and prayers are with you all.Patricia Fenby Luckow

Very fond memories of Max teaching some of us boys in the area right from wrong in a very positive way. I always had a great deal of respect for him, 40+ years ago and all the rest of his days. His open faith has been an inspiration to me. God Bless.

Message from Robert "Bob" Smith - February 16, 2016 at 07:53 AM

Max and I were bivouaced in the basement of the Cadillac DNR office in the spring of 1968, working the west side fish runs. We worked, ate, slept and developed a lasting friendship that spring. He loved his dogs. How many of us would stop and buy an ice cream cone for our dog. Max was a talented man a fine C.O.who lived his life with purpose. My thoughts and prayers are with the family, what lasting memories they have to share.Bob Smith "Smitty"

I am so sorry to hear of Max's passing. I worked with him when I was a very new Conservation Officer. We rode with his belived dog, I think name Fritzie, if I recall correctly. Later he gave me a puppy she had. Max was always a nice man and an upstanding conservation officer. He will be missed. Mary Sherzer

Theresa, Chuck and I still think of you and Max every July 4th, when the four of us sat on lawn chairs in our yard and watched fireworks over Lake Missaukee. We're so sorry for your loss.

A man after Gods own heart, showing kindness and love. Max, you were always an encouragement to me and my family. I will truly miss the stories and encouragement you brought. Earth lost a treasure. Heaven gained a saint.
