Message from Cheryl Bernard - April 16, 2015 at 09:12 AM

Dear Carol,So sorry to hear of Marv passing.I send my heartfelt condolences to you & your family. I have very fond memories of both you & Marv when you lived here in DeTour. I hope you will receive this message, at this late date. This was the first winter that Dennis & I were able to get away, after he retired last January, that's why my condolences were delayed. I even tried to call Marge for your address, but I couldn't get an answer. Please know that you are in my thoughts & prayers & I hope your heart will be comforted! I will remember Marv as a true gentleman. :) Sincerely, Cheryl & Dennis Bernard

We have nothing but fond memories and many belly laughs with our friends Marv and Carol. Meals shared at their home on the St. Marys River....card games....community choir, Sacred Heart Catholic church...'the nuns'....the neighbors....and then in a twinkling of an eye, it was all changed when Marv became so ill. The good Lord gave Marv many more years on this earth before He finally called him home to Him. RIP "Marvelous Marv"....hope you keep things hopping until we too get there. We shall meet again dear friend of this I am sure. Cathy & Dave Kohring
Message from Karen - February 21, 2015 at 12:14 AM

We remember Marv who lived next door to us in Garden City, as a friendly neighbor, and I'd always see him, coming home from work, walking up the driveway carrying his black steal lunch box. Used to think it was kind of an old fashion one, but it was the best kind to have - big and kept things cold. We also remember seeing him sitting out in the back yard of the house, in the shade of a tree, cracking shelled nuts. One time three of us lady neighbors, Carol, Mary and I were going for a bike ride. He kiddingly yelled out to Bill, "Hey I'd like to have a dime for every pound riding on those three bikes" Funny guy he was! We'll miss you Marv - Next door neighbor Karen

Message from April Russell - March 01, 2015 at 08:48 AM

Gg-pop, I can't tell you how much we miss you. It doesn't seem real that your gone, and it will never ever be the same without you. I have always thought of you as my blood grandfather, and I will never forget the special bond that we had. When I called the day that you passed, I just knew that God wanted me to share the passage in Jesus'calling. I suppose that message was what you needed to hear because you passed within that next hour. My heart is so saddened that your gone, but I'm so glad that your not sick and that you went to be with Jesus. Not a day will pass that we won't think of you and remember all of the fun times we had. I love you with all of me, and I miss you more than you know. Until we see each other again... April(your granddaughter)

My heart goes out to the family of Marv. I have known him since I was in school, when I would go over to see him and Carol and cut there grass in the summer. He will be truly missed, he was a great man. RIP MarvKristin Lutjens
