Clara M. Ramsay, age 93 , passed away, Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Autumnwood of McBain.
Clara was born August 21, 1921 in Detroit to Frank and Viola "Billie" (Benson) Jacot.
In September of 1941 she married Douglas W. Ramsay in Detroit. He preceded her in death October 21, 1987.
For decades Clara was an extremely faithful volunteer for the American Cancer Society and also actively involved in the McBain Relay for Life. She walked neighborhoods in the Southfield area collecting donations for cancer research.
Clara taught in a co-op nursery school for the Congregational Church in Southfield for over ten years.
Clara was well known for her sewing skills; as she was a lifelong professional seamstress; working out of her home for decades.
She attended the Merritt United Methodist Church for many years.
Surviving Clara is her daughter Sharon Morris of McBain, a brother Donald Jacot of Mason and a sister in law Betty Jacot of Greensboro, North Carolina.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother Kenneth Jacot and a sister in law Agnes Jacot.
