Sharon Elizabeth Northrup

Sharon Elizabeth Northrup, 81, of  Houghton Lake passed away on Monday October 3, 2022 at Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids.

Sharon was born on February 5, 1941, in Flint, Michigan to Leonard and Vera (Vogelei) Goss. Sharon graduated from Flint Central High School in 1959. She worked as a Salesperson for Lord and Taylor and was an Estee Lauder representative in Ann Arbor for 20+ years, before moving to the Houghton Lake area. Sharon was married to Joseph Northrup in 1991, and they enjoyed their life together until his passing in 2006. Sharon was a member of Fraternal Order of the Eagles Club #3201 in Houghton Lake. She was a gourmet cook, and she had an extensive cookbook collection. She was an avid reader, reading a book per day for years. In her free time, she always enjoyed boating and fishing on Houghton Lake, and was also a member of her local bowling, billiards, and shuffleboard leagues.

Surviving Sharon Elizabeth Northrup are her loving children, from her first marriage to James Black, Jr., Deborah (Charles) Vayda, Bridget (Michael) Stafford, James (Cynthia) Black III, Step-son Michael (Zita) Riesterer; Grandchildren, Aaron (Angela) Urban, Amelia (Jordan) Sella, Aubrey (Nate) Kroes, Gregory (Trish) Hollingsworth, Erica Hollingsworth, Spence Stafford, and Slade (Hannah Murphy) Stafford and Deidra Riesterer; 10 Great Grandchildren; and longtime companion Gerald Krajnovic, and his family. Sharon was preceded in death by her Late Husband, Joseph Northrup; Parents, Leonard and Vera Goss; and her Brother, Patrick Goss.

A memorial service for Sharon will be held on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at Christler Funeral Home - Houghton Lake Chapel at 1:00pm. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 20, 2022 from 11:00am until the time of the service.
