Ruth Coyne Obituary

Ruth M. Coyne, age 80 of Lake City passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Samaritas

Living Center in Cadillac.

 

Ruth was born January 12, 1940 in Traverse City to Daryl and Emma (Lichty) Anderson.

 

She was united in marriage October 28, 1960 to Ronald L. Coyne at the Williamsburg United Methodist Church.

 

Ruth was an avid photographer. Her collection includes her keen eye of capturing many details of wildlife and nature.   She loved to fish and especially enjoyed spending time with her

grandchildren and buying items for them.  She was a good grandmother and was very giving of herself.  Ruth volunteered at Friends Ministry, was vice president of the Lake City Senior

Citizens Center and a longtime member of the Williamsburg United Methodist Church .

 

Ruth is survived by her husband, Ronald of Lake City, and children, Ronald Coyne Jr of Kewadin and Robin (Bob) Crandall of Byron Center as well as four grandchildren, Chasserae Coyne, Marcilla McDonald, Justin Crandall and Meghan (Matt) Slotman and three great grandchildren: Zoe Coyne and Levi and Natalie McDonald.

 

She is also survived by her four brothers: Jack Anderson and Lawrence (Margaret) Anderson both of Traverse City, Ken Anderson of Williamsburg and Junior (Sue) Anderson of Acme and four sisters: Arlene (Richard) Hall, Lucille Conley, and Margaret Deveneau all of Elk Rapids and Caryl (Wayne) Stites of Williamsburg.

 

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers Bud, Jim and Bill, a sister Shirley, four sisters in law Marge, Judy, Karon and Virginia and two brothers in law Duane and Fred.

 

Funeral services for Ruth will be 11:00 am on Friday, February 14, 2020 at the Young-Holdship Funeral Home in Lake City with Rev. Russell Logston officiating. A time of visitation will begin at 10:00 am prior to services. 

 

Burial will take place at the Milton Township Cemetery in Kewadin  in the spring.

 

Memorial contribution may be directed to the American Cancer Society or Friends Ministry in Lake City.
