Richard “Dick” W. Schooley, age 83 of Lake City passed away Saturday, May 9, 2020 at his home.
Dick was born January 24, 1937 at home in Caldwell Township of Missaukee County to Ernest and Margaret (Shivlie) Schooley..
He was united in marriage on February 18, 1961 to the former Patricia Williams in Lake City.
Dick was involved in numerous jobs during his working years; he learned the carpentry trade alongside of his father
and then worked with his cousin Lawrence Shivlie before beginning his own building construction business.
He worked in the oil rigs and also painted houses for Bill Mosher. In later years he sold an abundance of firewood.
Dick and Pat usually traveled to Canada a couple times each year for camping and fishing. He enjoyed hunting
and watching old Gunsmoke reruns on television. Dick was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Lake City.
Dick is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patricia and son Bill Schooley of Lake City and two grandsons:
Brandon (Deb) and Jake. He is also survived by a brother: Larry (Gene) Schooley of Lake City and five sisters:
Mary Burkholder, Kay Hodges and Norma Lutke all of Lake City, Linda Lewis of Montana and Sandy VerHulst of Wyoming, MI
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Jean and Elaine, three brothers: Fred, Bill and Kenneth
and two sons: Norman and Michael.
Burial will take place in the Lake City Cemetery.
