Paul Perron Obituary

Paul Sherman Perron, age 80, of Holly formerly of Brimley passed away peacefully on Saturday May 2, 2020 at The Brook of Houghton Lake.

Paul was born on February 22, 1940 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan to Paul and Mildred (Sherman) Perron. He graduated from Brimley high school in 1959, where he was the captain of the Brimley Bays wearing his legacy number 13. He went on to play basketball at Lake Superior College before joining the US Navy in 1961, and proudly served on the USS Henley DD762 during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Paul met Sharon Conner while docked at the Virginia Naval Base and they were married on April 23, 1965 in Norfolk, Virginia. Paul and Sharon raised three children together and his heart was always happiest while spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a machinist for many years for General Motors and was a man of many trades. He is remembered by his family as a proud but simple man who always had a story to tell.

Paul is survived by his children; Margaret (Scott) Smith of Prudenville, Michelle (Lance) McCurdy of Sacramento, California and son; Paul Perron of Flint, grandchildren; Elizabeth Giffen, Jeremy Beauregard, Cameron Cross, Lillian Perron, Lucas Perron, Hayley Smith and Zach Smith, great grandchild; Carmin Cross, brothers; Michael (Wanda) Perron and Patrick (Ric) Perron, dear friend; JoJo, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 49 years; Sharon Perron, Baby Boy Perron, sister; Margaret, brother; Ron and daughter in-law; Mary.

Graveside Services for Paul Sherman Perron will be conducted at a later date at Hillcrest Cemetery in Raco, Michigan. Christler Funeral Home-Prudenville Chapel is serving the family. Condolences can be sent to the family online at www.christler-holdship.com
