Nadine S. (Ames) Booms

Lake City - Nadine Suzanne Booms, longtime resident of the Lake City area passed away at home with family by her side on Monday, February 26, 2024 at . She was 74.

Nadine was born on April 22, 1949, in Flint, Michigan to Ellis and Opal (Keeler) Ames. She grew up in the Flint area before making her way to Northern Michigan close to 1970. While here, Nadine spent time working at Manton Industries and as a bus driver, but by far her greatest occupation was a mom and especially as a grandma. Nadine was a bit of a homebody and enjoyed her downtime playing solitaire, gardening, and in years passed sewing or crocheting.  She will be remembered for her caring nature and missed by many.

Nadine is survived by her husband, Michael M. Booms of Lake City; her daughter, Suzanne Hancock of Lake City; her son, Ronald (Misty) Riedel of Lake City; step-children, Danita Zayac, Darcey Booms, Nathan (Shelly) Booms, and Neil (Shelly) Booms; many grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Lou Moore, Barbara Reid and Rosemary Edmunds; one brother, Bob Ames; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings.

A celebration of life will be held later this summer. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
