Marjorie Lois McMillen, 89, of  Houghton Lake went to be with her Lord on Sunday January 26, 2020 at Munson Medical Center Grayling.

Marjorie was born on January 24, 1931 in Ionia , Michigan to Victor and Dorotha (Darby) Clum. She grew up in the Lake Odessa area where she graduated from Lake Odessa High School.  She then attended Grand Rapids Baptist College and later nursing school in Chicago.  On August 15, 1953 in Alto, Michigan, Marjorie was married to Leonard G.  McMillen.  In 1961 the couple moved to Alaska as Independent Baptist Missionaries.  While in Alaska they also ran a Commercial Salmon Fishing Boat.  After 30 years of Missionary work in Alaska the couple moved back to Michigan and the Houghton Lake area.  Marjorie was a member of Pathway Baptist Church, and the Houghton Lake Lake Association.  She was a kind, gentle and caring person, always doing for others and never wanted the spot light on herself.  Marjorie showed her missionary spirit and service to her Lord by the way she continuously entertained guests and enjoyed preparing and serving her guests a meal.  She loved spending time with the grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving Mrs. McMillen are her loving husband of 66 years, Leonard G. McMillen of Houghton Lake; son, Jonathan (Bernita) McMillen of Alaska; daughter, Ruth Ann (Dan) Wojtowicz of Auburn Hills, MI; four grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.  Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Victor and Voight. 

Memorial Services for Marjorie Lois McMillen will be conducted at 2:00 pm Friday January 31, 2020 from Pathway Baptist Church, 2375 West Nestel Road, Prudenville, with Pastor Jeff Tuttle officiating. Interment will be in Lake Township Cemetery, in the spring. Visitation will be held on Friday January 31, 2020 from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at 2:00 pm at the church.  Memorial contributions in memory of Marjorie are asked to be directed to Pathway Baptist Church, 2375 West Nestel Road, Prudenville, MI, 48651 .
