Leslie Thomas Tibitowski

Lake City - Leslie T. Tibitowski, of Cadillac and formerly from the St. Clair Shores and Romeo area, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at Whispering Pines Senior Living. He was 69.

Leslie was born on March 28, 1953, in Highland Park, Michigan to Leonard and Louella (Thompson) Tibitowski. He became a graduate of Notre Dame High School before going on to Wayne State University.

Leslie made his living with the United States Postal Service as a postman and eventual supervisor, spanning over 20 years. Leslie enjoyed attending car auctions with his father, where he could obtain a new vehicle to work on and possibly sell.  He could often be found helping others with their cars as well, to make sure they stayed on the road.  Later in life, Leslie began helping to care for his parents and following their death, he moved to northern Michigan with his best friend and brother LaRoy.  The two made their home in Cadillac until health led them to Whispering Pines near Lake City.

Leslie is survived by his four siblings, Larry (Elaine) Tibitowski of Macomb, Laurie (Len) Honeycutt of Harietta, Lee (Cathy) Tibitowski of Palm Harbor, FL, and LaRoy Tibitowski of Lake City; his nieces, Karen (Dennis) Sandoval, Bonnie Tibitowski, and January (Danny) Bayus; as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews, including Jack Santine, Gabrielle Santine, Madison Sedmak, Savannah Sedmak, Justin Flood, Isabelle Flood, Hunter Flood, Rosalyn Flood, Waverly Bayus and other loving family members and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his nephew, Erik, and his sister-in-law, Elaine.

Per his wishes cremation has taken place and his urn will be laid to rest at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
