Larry Allen Young

Larry Allen Young, age 76 of Lake City, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at home.

Larry was born March 22, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois to Lowell and Geraldine (Lehman) Young.

He was raised in Flat Rock, Michigan and graduated from Flat Rock High School.

He proudly served in the US. Navy during the Vietnam War and was employed at Ford Motor Company in Ypsilanti for thirty six years and retired in 1996.

He was a faithful member of the Calvary Baptist Church.  Larry enjoyed television and watching his collection of movies.  He walked to town more than occasionally and was  often found talking to anyone and everyone.  He was a very friendly man and totally enjoyed striking up conversations.

Larry is survived by his son, Lonald (Amy Pitz) of Lake City and stepson, John Gonczy and stepdaughters, Cherie Gonczy and Lisa Buell and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Darlena and a sister, Cheryl.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 am on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at the Young-Holdship Funeral Home in Lake City with Pastor Brian Algie officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am until service time.

Burial will take place at the Berg Cemetery in Hillsdale County.
