Manton - Judy Ann Kimbel, of Manton, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at her home. She was 65.
She was born on October 2, 1958, in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Weldon and Emma (Roth) Garn. Judy moved around a bit as a child and she eventually made her way to northern Michigan. On August 8, 1987 she entered into marriage with Jeffrey Kimbel in Manton. The two made their home in Manton and Judy went to work around the house creating a beautiful flower garden and a little fish pond. She could often be found working a crossword puzzle, taking in a good action movie (possibly with Bruce Lee or Jackie Chan), or tuning into the 700 Club. In earlier years, she spent time creating keepsakes by knitting and crocheting. But most of all, she loved being a wife, mom, and grandmother, creating many wonderful memories camping with her family over the years.
Judy is survived by her loving husband, Jeffrey Kimbel of Manton; her children, Jeffrey Kimbel Jr., Candice (John) Maurer of Coopersville, Marlena (Shaun) Jose of Manton, Kimberly Kimbel of Cadillac, and Bobbi (Jimmie) Overla of Manton; two brothers, Mark and Doug Garn; her sister, Pam Bowden; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several in-laws; and her mother-in-law, Arlene Kimbel as well as many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Guy Garn.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date and details will be announced closer to the date of services. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in care of Jeff Kimbel.
