James Curtis Obituary

Lake City- James Curtis, of Lake City passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at home surrounded by loved ones. He was 90.

He was born on November 21, 1935, in Merritt, Michigan, to Lloyd and Laverne (Spencer) Curtis. James entered into marriage with Caralene (Barnes) and had 7 children together.  

James worked as a millwright for Goodyear tire for over 30 years until his retirement. James enjoyed the outdoors. He was typically found bird watching with a Busch Lite in hand. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and shuffle boarding with his wife. 

James is survived by his children, Maureen (Merl) Wilson, Julie (Kim) Sevenski, Patricia "Pat" (Brian) Strattan, Jim Curtis, Dawn Curtis, Mark (Elaine) Curtis, and Lorraine (Joe) Ochoa; many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many other family and friends.

James is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Curtis and Laverne June (Spencer) Curtis.

Funeral services will follow Thursday, August 6, 2026 starting at 12 noon with visitation held one hour prior at the Young-Holdship Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor Bart Glupker. Interment will take place at the Aetna Township Cemetery in Falmouth, following the funeral service.
