Evelyn Moran Obituary

Evelyn Louise Moran, 88, of  Houghton Lake, passed away on Tuesday March 14, 2023 at McLaren Hospital in Mt. Clemens.

Evelyn was born on November 22, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan to Joe and Julia (Polkabla) Lucatch. Soon after graduating from High School, Evelyn was married on May 15, 1954 in Royal Oak, MI to Donald Lee Moran. They would go on to celebrate 69 loving years together. Upon moving to Houghton Lake, she was an active member at St. James Catholic Church, and volunteer at the Houghton Lake Senior Center. Evelyn will be remembered as being kind, energetic and enjoying spending time with her family. She loved to dance and had a great sense of humor. Evelyn loved taking rides through the countryside in their custom 1932 Ford. She cheered for her beloved Detroit Tigers almost as much as her many grandchildren at their sporting events. Always one to lend a helping hand, she volunteered at her church, Senior Center and participated in the CROP walk for 20 years. Evelyn was an avid baker, always sharing recipes and treats with friends and family. Many met her, but very few would forget her. She will be missed by all.

Surviving Evelyn Louise Moran are her loving Husband of 69 years, Donald  Moran of Houghton Lake, MI; Children, Phyllis (Daniel) Zak of Cape Coral, FL, Pamela (George) Bogden of Sterling Heights, MI, Paul (Diann) Moran of Capac, MI, and Patricia (Eric) Baxmann of Ft. Meyers, FL; Sister, Marianne O'Halla;12 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren. Evelyn was preceded in death by her Parents, Joe and Julia Lucatch; and her Sister, Dorothy Cvercko.

A Memorial Service for Evelyn will be held at a later date.
