Dwayne R. Wagner, 59, of Lake City, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at home in the presence of those he loved most.
He was born on July 14, 1962, in Cadillac, to Jay and Bethel Wagner.
He attended Lake City High School, graduating in 1980. On July 21, 1984, he married Brenda Horton, in Moorestown.
Dwayne was known for his love of the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, passions he passed on and shared with children. His voice and laugh stood out in a crowd - you knew if you were in a room with Dwayne Wagner. He loved having a beer with his buddies, watching Westerns, and spending time with family. The words tough and stubborn could be used to describe him, but he was also gentle, caring, and the very best papa to his bunch of sweet little granddaughters.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Brenda; daughter, Shelia Wagner (Trevor Brogdon), of Lake City, and son, Albion (Ashley) Wagner, of Manton: mother, Bethel, of Lake City; granddaughters, Halie, Hannah, Breena, Harper, Novahlynn, Ariah, Mckenna, and Gwenevere; brothers, Dale (Shirley) Wagner and Doyle (Deb) Wagner; sisters Deb (Kris) Dewitt and Beth (Rob) Grove; sister-in-law, Lori (Thomas) Kimm; brother-in-law, Duane (Heidi) Horton Jr.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jay; and sister-in-law, Debbie Sutton.
A memorial service for Dwayne will be held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at the Moorestown-Stittsville United Methodist Church, 4509 East Moorestown Road, Lake City. A luncheon will follow at the Norwich Township Hall.
