David Joseph Yanska, of Mesick, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at his home with family by his side. He was 59.
David was born on December 21, 1964 in Traverse City, Michigan to Joseph and Patricia (Weber) Yanska. He attended St. Mary of Hannah Catholic School until 8th grade and then graduated from Kingsley High School. David began his career working on tugboats in Chicago, Illinois. He later spent the remainder of his career owning and operating a brick restoration company serving the Traverse City and surrounding areas for many years. In his spare time, David could often be found outside camping. He enjoyed making trips to stay at their property and loved surrounding himself with the peace of nature. David liked to travel, including his most recent trip out west with his three children and Terri. He often talked about his trip with Terri down to Florida and all the fun they had. He cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. David and his infectious laugh will be missed by so many.
David is survived by his loving companion, Terri Harris; mother of his children, Rhonda
(Koglin) Yanska; children, Zachary (Amanda) Yanska, Nathan (Jessica) Yanska, and Abigail (Lucas) Makowski; grandchildren, Skylar, Owen, Sage, Lucas, and Payton; siblings, Laurie Thomas, and Tracy (Steve) Endres; several nieces and nephews; and many other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Patricia (Weber) Yanska; and his sister Deborah.
