Dale Fisher Obituary

Dale Edward Fisher, born on June 2, 1954, in Lansing, Michigan, passed away on April 6, 2024, in Houston, Texas. He is survived by his spouse, Karen, his children, Rachel, Nicole, Joshua (Amy), his grandchildren, Jayden and Alyssa, and his siblings, Kay (Thad), Lee (Sherly), and Sue (Michael). He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence, mother, Jeanne, and brother, Mark.

Dale graduated from Williamston High School in 1972 and earned Associate Degrees in Civil Technology and Electronics from Lansing Community College in 1979. From there, Dale followed his propensity for exploration and sought out career opportunities that allotted him growth and stability for his family. His journey started in the oil and gas fields of Northern Michigan, to the high plains and mountains of Wyoming, to the rolling hills of Oklahoma and to many other oil patches across America. His desire to learn, attention to detail, and willingness to take on difficult tasks pushed his career path to Integrity Management and Process Safety Management. Dale developed a true craft for process hazard analysis and was well recognized by colleagues and peers for his high standard of work and professionalism.

Dale held many roles and passions in his life. As a believer of Christ, he remained faithful to his Catholic upbringing. As a son and brother, Dale showed patience, tolerance, and guidance throughout his life. As a husband, he valued and supported his love, Karen Anne Schwach, whom he married in 1981. As a father and grandfather, he instilled values of hard work, honesty, and integrity to yield the most reward. As an athlete, he honed his skills in wrestling and baseball in his youth and remained active throughout his entire life. As a mentor, he sought to give back to the youth community via coaching in sports, donating to education, and volunteering whenever he could. As a friend, he communicated and prioritized keeping in touch. As an explorer, he traveled to various parts of the world to learn about different cultures. As a treasure hunter, he would seek out local estate sales to find those special things that brought him joy and happiness. And as a kind human, he knew no stranger, always willing to make a connection and effortlessly leaving a memorable impression.

We are devastated by the loss of Dale, but will take solace in the memories we have with him. There was much he still planned to do in life; fishing trips, softball games with his Florida crew, whale watching, playing cards with the family, finding treasures with whomever would join him, house projects, and enjoying ice cream with his grandkids. We will remember him sitting at a swim up bar, drinking an AB, wearing a ballcap, and listening to some country music, sharing stories and having laughs.

He has left us with many ‘Dale stories’ that we can recount in our own times of need.
