Marjorie W. Quist, age 91 of McBain passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at her home.
Marge was born September 13, 1926 in Lucas to Clayton and Katie (Elenbaas) Taylor.
She married Ivan K. Quist February 8, 1947 in Lucas. He preceded her in death May 7, 2015.
Marge worked alongside her husband Ivan doing bookkeeping for the Quist Oil Company. She loved her home and was a fantastic cook. She enjoyed her vegetable garden and kept busy during harvest season with canning and preserves. Family gatherings were always a highlight of her life. She was a member of the Clam River Chapel in Falmouth.
She is survived by her six sons and their wives: Roger (Olga) of Manistique, Dennis (Kim) of Morenci, Phillip (Darla) of Montgomery, Calvin (Carol) of Athens, Melvin (Kathleen) of McBain and Carl (Christie) of Lake City as well as 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
She is also survived by a brother: Jerry (Louise) Taylor of Lucas and sisters in law: Betty Taylor, Henrietta Taylor and Paula Taylor all of Lucas and Pearl Taylor of McBain and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Lawrence, Jim, Bob and Vernon and sisters: Katherine Schepers, Mae Pluger and Sharon Taylor and sister in law Bonnie Taylor and brothers in law: Alfred Pluger and Ray Schepers and a granddaughter, Laura Quist.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the Clam River Chapel in Falmouth with Pastor Mike Sherf officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, April 27, 2018 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Young Funeral Home in Lake City.
Burial will take place in the Richland Township Cemetery in Lucas.
