Madeline H. Dorothy, age 99 of Manton passed away July 26, 2017 at the Belle Oakes Living Center in Lake City, MI.

She was born January 15, 1918 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Eleazar and Cecilia (Laanui) Lazarus.

Madeline was raised in Hawaii where she spent 94 years of her life before moving to Michigan.

She enjoyed playing cards, especially solitaire and a game of Scrabble. She also enjoyed working in the yard and in her younger years she enjoyed dancing.
Her family will remember her as “always doing things her way”.

Madeline is survived by her children: Betty (Larry) Wezensky of Battle Creek, Tane (Linda) Koblick of Walnut, CA, Lee (Lorie) Dorothy of Gypsum, CO, Larry (Frieda) Lawrence of Las Vegas, NV, Georgie (Joe) Hooker of Manton, MI, Wilbur (Marilyn) Dorothy of Las Vagas, NV and Wayne Dorothy of Honolulu, HI, 12 grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren and a sister in law Martha Lazarus as well as nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters, a daughter in law Ruth Dorothy, a grandson Clay and a son in law Robert Kareckas.

Madeline had requested cremation and there are not any services planned.
