Lawrence P. Havens, age 68 of McBain passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018 at the Aleda E. Lutz Veterans Medical Center in Saginaw.

Lawrence was born January 10, 1950 in Ypsilanti to Harold and Barbara (Ballard) Havens.

He married Maria Canete June 21, 2001 in Lake City.

Lawrence was a veteran of the US Army, serving two tours of duty in the Vietnam War.
He was a self-employed building contractor and enjoyed fishing, hunting and
racing his Mustang.

He is survived by his wife Maria and children: Joshua (Heather) Havens of Avoca, Iowa, Jennifer (Christopher) Dushane of Cadillac and Larissa Ariate of Flint, six grandchildren Veronica and Zander Hanna and Sterling Havens and Lillian, Gabriel and Maverick Dushane.

He is also survived by his mother: Barbara Havens of Falmouth and a sister and nephew
Sharon (David) Toft and Benjamin Toft of Sharpsburg, GA.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Havens.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at the Cadillac First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Brandon Metzger officiating. Visitation will be Friday, June 8, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Young Funeral Home in Lake City.

Burial will take place in the Mount View Cemetery in McBain with Military Honors conducted by the American Legion Post 300 of Lake City.
