Julius G. Nelson, age 78 of Lake City passed away at his home Thursday, May 4, 2017.
He was born April 12, 1939 in Pontiac to Julius and Lillian (Woodworth) Nelson.
He married the former Marilyn Spoor September 5, 1958 in Walled Lake. Marilyn preceded him in death November 23, 2008.
Julius was employed with the Kensington Metro Parks for over forty years and retired to the Lake City area in 2004. He was a small engine mechanic and enjoyed fixing things and working with his hands.
He was a bowler and loved his dogs and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Julius is survived by his children Lauri (Jacob) Humbarger of Waterford, Mark (Carrie) Nelson of Cadillac and Brandi Nelson of Traverse City. Grandchildren Jeremy, Matthew, Linsey, Morgan, Onyx and Kindred and great grandchildren Charlie, Madison, Michael, Damien, Karma, Maxwell and Matthew and his brother: Jack (Janice) Nelson of Traverse City and sister Claudia Tomsett of Kentucky.
Besides his wife Marilyn he was also preceded in death by a sister Betty Proctor.
