James Paul Hoadley, age 52 of Manton passed away April 3, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his family.

James was born December 10, 1964 in Frankfort to James and Mary (Hentschel) Hoadley.

He graduated from Manton Alternative Education in 1992. James was a very strong individual and loved everyone and had a forgiving heart. He was the most caring person and willing to help a stranger.

James enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley music, watching NASCAR racing and his favorite car driver was Dale Earnhardt. Jim’s pride and joy was his Gator. He loved riding it everywhere. He also enjoyed camping, fishing and the out of doors.

Jim’s wish was fulfilled in February, by his very good friend Shawn, when Jim was able to meet the cast of “Counting Cars” in Detroit.

James is survived by his parents; James and Mary Hoadley of Manton, a brother: John (Nancy) Hoadley of Traverse City and a sister: Monica Hoadley of Lake City and nieces and nephews: Dominic, Dustin, Mariah, and Andrew, Andrea and Steven(Katie).

He is also survived by his adopted brother Jeremy and special friend Bob, who was like a brother.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Kayla Rose Thompson in 2008 and his sister Sheila Hoadley in 2015.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the Young Funeral Home in Lake City with Pastor Ben Pike officiating. A time of visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home until the time of services.

Burial will take place in the Antioch Township Cemetery.
