Mable R. Galbraith, age 90, of Prudenville passed away on Monday October 14, 2019 at home surrounded by her family.
Mable was born on November 24, 1928 in Flint, Michigan to William and Alma (Jecht) Koch. She worked as a receptionist for many years before retiring. Mable was married on November 21, 1953 in Flint, Michigan to Theodore W. Galbraith. The couple moved to Carson City in 1973 and returned to Houghton Lake in 1994. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, American Legion Auxiliary and the Houghton Lake Kiwanis Club, she enjoyed playing BINGO, reading, playing cards with her neighbor and spending time with her family.
Mable is survived by her daughters; Linda Daniels of Perrinton, Susan (James) Mathis of Grand Rapids and Karen (Kenneth) Hissong of East Lansing, son; Thomas (Patricia) Galbraith of Freeland,eleven grandchildren; Kate (Dave) Galla, Patrick (Kayla) Daniels, Ericka Mathis, Aaron Mathis, Alan (Daryl) Showers-Mathis, Travis (Kara) Galbraith, Jordan (Hannah) Galbraith, Ryan Galbraith, Theo Galbraith, Calvin Hissong and Kyle (Emily) Hissong, seven great grandchildren, sister; Dorothy (Herman) Bandy of Florida and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Theodore W. Galbraith, son-in-law; Grant W. Daniels, sisters; Marion, Elsie and Helen and brothers; William and Donald.
A celebration with the family will take place on Friday December 6, 2019 from 7-9 pm at St. John Lutheran Church. A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday December 7, 2019 at 11 am at St. John Lutheran Church, the family will greet friends from 9 am until the time of the service. Memorial contributions in memory of Mable are asked to be directed to St. John Lutheran Church, Special Olympics at www.specialolympics.org or Hospice of Michigan.
