Frederick "Harry" William Turkette

Cadillac, Michigan- Frederick “Harry” William Turkette, age 80, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2019. 

Harry was born on September 10, 1938, in Cinderella, West Virginia, to Thomas J. and Myrtle J. (Osborne)Turkette. Harry grew up with his five siblings, Evan Thomas “Tom” (Norma), Charles Richard “Dick”, Mary Emily Karas, Brenda J. (Marty) Combs and Lana Meyerhoff. He was a 1955 graduate of Hazel Park High School. Harry entered into marriage with the former Patricia Havranek. The couple spent 58 years together until her time of passing in March 2013. He started his career working at several down state companies including Angelo Construction, as a crew supervisor, and Detroit Broach, as a service technician. He spent the remainder of his career as the owner and operator of the 4Ks Motel in Benzonia until his time of retirement after 25 years. Harry enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing as well as activities with his friends at the Manistee Senior Center.

He is survived by his sons, Harry and Jeff; daughter, Shannon; grandchildren, Thomas, James, Danielle ,and Dana; and many other loving family members and friends.

Harry will be cremated with a private family service to follow at a later date.
