Edward “Edd” Neil Rainier, age 75 of Lake City passed away May 19, 2019 at
Autumnwood of McBain.
Edd was born November 18, 1943 in Auburn, Indiana to Alva and Aileen (Derrow) Rainier.
He married the former Nancy Lee Sunderland April 20, 1968 in Merritt. Nancy
preceded him in death in 2009.
Edd was a graduate of Lake City High School in 1962 and enlisted in the
US Navy in 1963 and served during Vietnam.
Edd and Nancy owned the E.N.D. service station in Lake City for over 20 years.
Edd was a member of the American Legion Post 300 of Lake City and the Missaukee
Conservation Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and watching sports, especially football.
He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Edd is survived by his children Dale (Melissa) Rainier of Lake City and Linda Cates of Waterford and four grandchildren: Taylor, Hunter, Phoebe and Caleb, and a great grandson, Jaxon. He is also survived by a sister Glenda (Edwin) Peterson of Lake City, a brother in law Dennis Erickson and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides his wife, Nancy, Ed was also preceded in death by his parents, sister Anita and her
husband Clyde Burt and sister Vernelia Erickson.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at the Young-Holdship Funeral Home in Lake City with family friend, Vicki Reid presenting the eulogy. The American Legion Post 300 of Lake City will conduct military honors. A time of visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
Burial will take place in the Star City Cemetery.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations be directed in memory of Edd to the Missaukee Conservation Club .
