Clarence "Clare" H. Cereska, age 92, of Prudenville passed away on Thursday April 18, 2019 at his home.
Clare was born on July 18, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan to Henry and Cecilia (Knichman) Cereska. He served in the US Army during World War II in Germany where he earned a Bronze Star, Combat Infantry Badge and other Ribbons. He was a foreman in a machine shop for many years before retiring and moving to Prudenville in 1986. Clarence was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, he was a former Post Commander for the Houghton Lake VFW Post 4034 from 1997-1998 and he also ran their BINGO for five plus years, he later became a member of the Roscommon VFW Post 4159.
Clare is survived by sons; Gary (Clorinda) Cereska of Clinton Twp. and Kenneth (Kristi) Cereska of Florida, grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and loving wife of 62 years; Henrietta N. Cereska, sisters; Lorraine and Florence.
Per Clare's wishes cremation has taken place. Military graveside services will be held on Monday May 20, 2019 at 1:30 pm at Denton Township Cemetery, Prudenville.
