Barbara Jean Reiter

Mesick, Michigan- Barbara Jean Reiter, of Mesick, passed away on June 12, 2019 at her home. She was 69.
Barbara was born on April 29, 1950 in Munising, Michigan to Carl and Marie (Denny) Reiter. She spent her career working as a heavy equipment operator for the road construction for many years while raising her children. Barbara started her family with Williard Bliss, the couple raised two daughters together and ended up creating a lasting friendship for the years following. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, watching wildlife, camping, hiking and traveling through the mountains. She loved making special road trips, especially car rides to the casino. Barbara cherished the time spent with her family and friends. Her relationship with god and her bible were very important to her. Barbara loved her special furry companion, her cat named Toad.
 
Barbara is surivved by her two daughters, Jeannie Dorsey of Tennessee and Theresa Miehlke of Mesick; special friend, Willard Bliss; grandchildren, Raymond, Zachary, Robert Lee and Kylee Rose; great-grandchildren, Emma, Kaylynn, Karter, Woods "Jelly Bean"; mother, Marie Reiter; siblings, Patty Owens, Carol Guernsey, Carl Reiter, and Arvid Reiter; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Reiter.
 
A memorial service will be conducted on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at 11 a.m. with visitation held one hour prior at Hitesman-Holdship Funeral Home. Officiating will be her brother, Arvid Reiter.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Wexford Council on Aging.
