Cherry Grove Township - Angela Marie Ferris, of Cadillac, peacefully passed away at home with family by her side on Friday, June 7, 2019. She was 52.
Angie was born on December 10, 1966, in Cadillac to Robert and Stella (Priest) VanDorn and was a graduate of Cadillac High School in 1984. Angie spent several years working with Hope Network before eventually becoming activities director at the Curry House. On June 9, 2001, Angie entered into marriage with Dean Ferris in Boon, Michigan. The two blended their families and their homes settling onto piece of property that Angie adored. A place where she could raise her horses, her beloved dog "Fred" could roam, and she could gaze upon the fields and barns, or at the stars while sitting around the bonfire pit. She will be deeply missed by many and leaves cherished memories of time well spent with her beloved grandkids.
Angela is survived by her husband, Dean Ferris of Cadillac; her mother, Stella VanDorn of Cadillac; four children, Jacob Farmer of California, Jesse Farmer of Grand Rapids, Roy (Jen) Farmer of Grand Rapids, and Deborah (Craig) Cardella of Cadillac; three grandchildren, Craig, Madelyn, and Zoey Cardella; three brothers; one sister; as well as many other loving family members.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert VanDorn; her son, Aaron Farmer; and a step-son, Kurt Ferris.
A celebration of Angie's life will take place from 12 noon until 3 pm, on Saturday, June 15th at the Cadillac United Methodist Church, with friends gathering for a time of sharing at 2 pm. The celebration will continue with a bonfire to follow beginning at 5 pm at the family home, located at 2130 E. 48 1/2 Road, Cadillac, MI 49601.
