Alfred Charles Bannerman, 80, of Prudenville passed away on Saturday September 28, 2019 at home with his loving family by his side.
Al was born on January 23, 1939 in Williamston, Michigan to Charles and Doris (Brown) Bannerman. He grew up and attended school in the Lansing area. Al worked for General Motors for many years at the Lansing Oldsmobile Plant as the dock controller. He worked several years as an RV Tech for Dennis Trailer Sales after retiring from GM. Al was married in Portland, MI. to Rebecca Faye Glover in 1983. The couple moved from Portland to Prudenville in 1998. He was a member of the Houghton Lake United Methodist Church, and the Mid Michigan Old Gas Tractor Association. Al was also an avid bowler in his early years.
Surviving Mr. Bannerman are his loving wife of 36 years, Rebecca Faye Bannerman of Prudenville; son, Chuck (Rhonda) Bannerman of Portland; two daughters, Sherry Sheehan of St. Johns, and Linda Heydenburk of Jackson; three step daughters, Wendy Bannerman of Ionia, Crystal Angel of Vermontville, and Renee (James) Mulligan of Muir; several grandchildren; two sisters, Belle (Joe) Linton of Mecosta, and Agnes Hill of TN. Alfred was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Thomas, and Edward.
Memorial Services for Alfred Charles Bannerman will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday October 11, 2019 from Houghton Lake United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held at the church for the hour before the service. Memorial contributions in memory of Al are asked to be directed to Houghton Lake United Methodist Church.
