Kathy D. (Clymer) Earley

Kathy Earley, 70, of Houghton Lake, Michigan, first saw the face of her Savior on Sunday, April 14, 2024, after many ongoing health battles. Because she trusted Christ in early adulthood, Kathy is now fully healed, worshiping today in the presence of Christ.

Kathy was born on August 22, 1953, in Flint, Michigan, to Clive and Barbara Clymer. After earning her GED she went on to the Police Academy at Kirtland Community College. She became a Corrections Officer for the Roscommon County Sheriff's Department, security for Saginaw General Hospital, and the owner of Earley's Non-Secure Detention Center.

Known for her generosity, creativity, and laugh, Kathy loved animals, Pepsi, BINGO, talking on the phone, and doing art projects—including painting, stained glass, and crocheting.

Kathy married the love of her life, Michael Earley on February 20, 1987. Together they loved their children and grandchildren, always gave back to the community, and adored each other.

Kathy was preceded in death by her husband Michael Earley, her parents Clive Clymer and Barbara Clymer, brothers Clive Clymer Jr., Bradley Clymer, and sister Michelle Wood.

She is survived by son Rick Varco Jr., daughter Tera (Isaac) Ragan, stepsons Simon (sooner) Earley, Eric (Sheryl) Earley, Noah (Jennifer) Earley, grandchildren Dante Barton, Dustin Barton, Sophie, Lauryn, Micah, Anna, and Maxwell Ragan, and sister Veronica DeKruger and brother John Schlicht.

A visitation will be held on Friday April 19th, 2024 from 10 am to 12 pm at Christler Funeral Home-Prudenville Chapel with a funeral service to follow at 12 pm. Burial service will be directly following the service at the Roscommon Township Cemetery.
