William (Bill) Eubank, age 91 of Lake City, passed away at his home Thursday, July 31, 2014.
Bill was born March 31, 1923 in Lake City to Allen and Gladys (Haver) Eubank.
He married the former Betty J. Huhtala on June 28, 1947. Betty preceded him in death
April 5, 2013. They had been married for 65 years.
Bill served in the US Marine Corps from 1942-1945 in the South Pacific.
Bill was purchasing agent for Kysor Industrial for 33 ½ years. In his spare time he was a beef cattle farmer.
He and Betty had fun and fellowship square dancing at various clubs for over 50 years.
They enjoyed camping with their fifth wheel trailer in Florida and Texas.
Bill loved being busy doing carpentry work, painting the barn, mowing lawns and snow plowing. He also occupied his time working with his son, Steve, on restoring his MG Midget. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bill attended the Lake City Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his daughter Karen Caroffino of Cadillac and a son Steve (Robin) Eubank of Lansing, grandchildren Kyle (Michelle) Eubank, Stephanie Eubank and Will (Gina) Eubank and special great granddaughters Emma and Christina Eubank and newborn grandson Jackson Eubank. He is also survived by a brother Paul (Jeri) Eubank of Kalamazoo, a sister Lucille Lewis of Kalkaska and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother John and sisters Dorothy Dickerson and Helen Green.
Visitation will be held 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, Sunday, August 3, 2014 at the Young Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 4, 2014 at the Lake City
Evangelical Presbyterian Church with Rev. Donald VanDyke officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am until the service time.
Burial will take place in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jennings.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Lake City Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
