Virgiline “Virgie” (Wonsey) Davis of Laingsburg, formerly of Lake City, passed away peacefully at her home May 30, 2016. She was 90 years old.
Virgie was born December 26, 1925 in South Boardman to Mark and Adelaide (Olin) Wonsey.
She married Lee Davis on August 9, 1941 in Lake City. He preceded her in death March 22, 2002.
Virgie worked at BF Goodrich in Cadillac and had her own Garden Shop in Six Lakes and worked at Sears in Lansing.
She loved to travel with her husband, and enjoyed flea markets, listening to birds singing, embroidery and sewing.
Virgie is survived by two sons: Michael and Larry Davis and a daughter Sharon (Gary) Hoisington, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and fifteen great great grandchildren.
She is also survived by her brothers Willis and Roger and sisters Eunice, Beatrice, Betty and Lorraine.
Besides her husband Lee, she was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Roberta; two brothers and sisters in law, Ernie and Faye and Delbert and Maybel; a sister and brother in law, Mary and Don; a grandson Larry Jr and a niece Judy.
A funeral service celebrating her life will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 3, 2016 at the Young Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Doherty officiating. A time of visitation will be Thursday, June 2, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Lake City Cemetery.
