Vernon K. Baldwin, age 83 of Lake City passed away Saturday, August 26, 2017 at the Belle Oakes Living Center.
Vern was born March 18, 1934 in Forest Township of Missaukee County to Francis and Rosella (Ryder) Baldwin.
He married the former Arletta J. Jankoski August 9, 1957 in Lake City.. She preceded him in death September 13, 2004.
Vern graduated from Lake City High School and served in the US. Army. He was employed at the A & P store in Lake City for twenty five years. He and his wife owned and operated Arletta's Flowers from 1960 to 1990.
Vernon is survived by his children Gordon (Cheryl) Baldwin, Tony (Cathy) Baldwin, Mark ( Teresa) Baldwin and Paul (Kathy) Baldwin all of Lake City, and a special friend Phyllis Kline of Lake City, sixteen grandchildren, forty one great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
He is also survived by his brothers: Jim Baldwin of Kentucky and Bill (Maxine) Baldwin of Lake City and sisters: Wanetta (Sherman) Wolever, of Charlotte, Ruth Ann (Jack Saltow) Gray of Lake City, Nancy (Gary) Gallop of Lake City, Sandra (Jim) Maxwell of Lake City and Rhonda (Cliff) Helsel of Fife Lake, and several nieces and nephews.
Vern was also preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter Nadine, three brothers: Kenneth, Bob and Carl Baldwin and a sister in law Dorreen Baldwin.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at the Young Funeral Home with Rev James Baldwin officiating. A time of visitation will be Tuesday, August 29, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Burial will take place in the Lake City Cemetery.
