Thomas Ray Duddles

Thomas Ray Duddles of Lake City, passed away Friday, August 21, 2015 at the Curry House Assisted Living Center in Cadillac.

Tom was born April 6, 1933 in Lake Township to Dwight and Bertha (Taylor) Duddles.
He graduated in the Class of 1950 from Lake City High School and on June 11, 1955 he married the former Ardith E. Sherman in Stittsville. She preceded him in death January 16, 1989.
He married Barbara Marion April 6, 1991.

He was a farmer on the Duddles Family Centennial farm his whole life until he retired. Tom was very active serving as Treasurer and Supervisor with Lake Township He represented Lake Township as a Missaukee County Commissioner and the Missaukee County Zoning Board and chairman of the Lake Township and Lake City Sewer Advisory Board for many years.

Tom was a life member of the Lake City United Methodist Church where he had served on various boards.

He enjoyed his life and being involved in all aspects of his activities. He was an avid reader and enjoyed attending all his grandchildren’s activities and sporting events.
Tom would like to be remembered as an honest and well respected person.

Tom is survived by his wife Barbara and his children Anne (Allen) Lake of Albion, William (Mary) Duddles of Lake City, George (Yvonne) Duddles of LaVerne, California, Edward (Albert) Duddles of Cotati, California, Donald (Lori) Duddles of Lake City, Rick (Beth) Marion, Jennifer Peer and Jeff (Laura) Marion all of Lake City.
He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren: Elaina, Thomas, Lydia, Lindsey, Eric, Amanda, Hillary, Quentin, Courtney, Drew, Lucas, Ben, Danielle, Alex, Becky and Shannon and two great grandchildren; Zach and Katie.
Tom is also survived by brothers; Roger Duddles of Lake Orion and Charles (Judi) Duddles of LaMesa, California and sisters: Bethel (Rex) Root of Manton and Ann (David) Johnston of Brooklyn and several nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, and daughters Virginia Rae in 1968 and Gwen Marion in 2010.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at the Lake City United Methodist Church.
A time of visitation will begin at noon prior to service time.

Burial will take place in the Lake City Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Lake City United Methodist Church.
