Sally R. Monks, age 78 of Kalkaska, formerly of Lake City, passed away July 5, 2015 at Munson Hospice Home in Traverse City surrounded by her family.
She was born December 30, 1936 in Union City, Tennessee to Erbie and Annie (Moore) Satterfield.
Sally married Thomas H. Monks, June 13, 1959 in Westland. He preceded her in death in 1981
Sally enjoyed playing Bingo and bowling. Her hobbies included cross stitch and spending time with her mystery sisters. She loved going to the casino and time spent with her grandkids and family meant a great deal to her.
She is survived by her daughter Terry (Tim) Waite of Traverse City and sons Mike (Sherrie) Monks of South Boardman and Andy (Theresa) Monks of Clinton Township and five grandchildren: Lynn (Jon) Matthews, Thomas Monks, Mark Hutchinson, Patrick Monks and Megan Monks and three great grandchildren: Mallory and Cora Matthews and Keegan Hutchinson.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the Young Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Mavis officiating. Visitation will be Friday, July 10, 2015 from 4:00 until 9:00 pm.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Munson Hospice Home in Traverse City.
