Nelis (Dale) Hubers, age 75 of Lake City went to be with his Lord on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at his home, surrounded by his family, after suffering from ALS.
Dale was born July 30, 1939 in Milaca, Minnesota to Folkert (Floyd) and Elizabeth (VanDuin) Hubers.
On December 18, 1959 he married the former Leona Mae VanDeRiet.
Dale began his own excavating and construction business after working for Velting Contractors in Grand Rapids. He also occupied his time fishing, hunting and snowmobiling. He enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Dale will be deeply missed by his wife, Leona and his three children Tamela (Phil) Bassler, Timothy and Marc Hubers all of the Grand Rapids area,
Grandchildren: Kate (Matt), Philip II (Trisha), Tricia, Nicholas, Seth and Casey and great grandchildren: Gabrielle, Kole, Alayna, Noah, Jaycob, Avaleigh and Brekyn.
He is survived by a step brother Ken (Chris) Rindels of AZ and a sister Cheryl (Doc) VanSolkema of Byron Center, sisters in law: Sylvia Timmer, Joyce Toonstra, Judy (Chuck) Corwin and brother in law: Harry (Ruth) VanDeRiet, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers James and Delmar.
Memorial services will take place 3:00 p.m. , Saturday, December 13, 2014 at the Jamestown Reformed Church with Rev. Mical Pugh officiating.
A time of visitation will be held Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Young Funeral Home in Lake City and also at the Jamestown Reformed Church on December 12, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday beginning at 2:00 pm until service time.
