Welcome to the memorial page for

Muriel M. Frise

February 11, 1922 ~ February 16, 2015 (age 93) 93 Years Old
Muriel M. Frise of Lake City passed away on Feb. 16, 2015, at Maple Ridge Living Center. She was 93.
She was born on Feb. 11, 1922 to William and Sue Jones in Los Angeles, California. She married Richard Dean Frise on Jan. 26, 1946, by the Navy Chaplain in North Carolina when they were both in the Marine Corp. They moved to Lake City in 1947, Dean’s hometown, later moving to California where Muriel graduated from San Diego State in 1954. It was hard with three young daughters and having to ride the bus to State. She started teaching in the Fall of that year and continued until retiring from the Chula Vista School District in 1981 when they returned “home” to Lake City. She did take a year off to have their fourth child and only son, John, the only child born in California. Her daughters were all Michiganders.
Over the years in Lake City, she maintained an active life as a member of the American Legion Post 300, St. John’s Lutheran Church of Lake City and many years with the Women’s Club “Forth Nighters.” In her 70’s she was proudly on the Library Committee that picked new books for the Lake City Library. She loved to read and did so late into her ‘80’s.
She was very active and loved everyone as much as everyone loved her. A huge thank you to Maple Ridge Living Center for their love and care during her three and a half year stay there.
She is survived by her son, John; daughter Susan; son-in-law, Ken Hargrove;
14 grandchildren and, so far, 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dean; and two daughters, Margaret Hargrove and Janice Weil; and son-in-law Steve Weil.
Graveside services will take place in the Lake City Cemetery on July 11, 2015 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Rosanne Anderson officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. John’s Lutheran Church of Lake City
