Mary L. Nietling, age 90, of Lake City passed away Saturday, September 17, 2016 at her home.
Mary was born May 21, 1926 in St. Charles, Michigan to Joseph and Alice (Daly) Wallin.
She was married to Donald J. Nietling and he preceded her in death in 1994.
Mary was a homemaker, but found pleasure in working an occasional crossword puzzle. Through the years she was actively involved with family life and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Lake City.
Survivors include her ten children: Maureen (Jim) Hansen of Alma, Mary Nietling of Knoxville, TN, Suzanne Harkleroad of Coventry, Connecticut, Don (Linda) Nietling, Ross (Barb) Nietling, and Shawn (Kathy) Nietling all of Lake City, Kurt (Cheri) Nietling of Rapid River, Troy (Sandy) Nietling of Lowell, Todd (Traci) Nietling and Kristin (Bob) Flint both of Lake City. Twenty one grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren also survive her, as well as a sister, Tillie Henniger of St. Charles and a brother, Fred Wallin of Powderly, TX
Besides her husband Donald, she was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Joe Wallin and a sister, Marlene Rourke.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at the St. Stephen Catholic Church in Lake City with Rev. Bryan Medlin officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Young Funeral Home in Lake City
Burial will take place in the Lake City Cemetery.
