Marsha J. Comp of Jennings entered eternal life at her home on Wednesday, March 26, 2014. She was 63 years old and had been in failing health.

She was born in Cadillac on October 1, 1950 to James R. and Bevery Madge (Way) Comp.

She graduated from Cadillac High School in 1968 and then attended and graduated from Steve Fowler’s Beauty School. She operated beauty salons and consignment shops in the Lake City and Manton areas for several years until failing health prohibited her from doing so.

In her later years, Marsha’s loving and compassionate heart led her to local nursing homes, where she put her skills as a beautician to good use for the many residents.

Marsha was a member of the Revival Center Church in Cadillac. She loved the Lord Jesus and desired others to know Him and His great Love and Salvation.

She was an avid fisherwoman. It was not unusual to see her out on Lake Missaukee in her boat fishing for hours. She had been known to say that “fishing was the greatest sport of all”.

She also enjoyed gardening, reading and cooking.

She is survived by her son, Aaron Comp and Missy McIsaac Comp of Lake City, three grandchildren: Aaron J., Gabriel and Alexis Comp and her mother, Bevery Madge Comp of Bradenton, FL,. She is also survived by three sisters: Laura Comp of Bradenton, FL, Sylvia Comp Sebastian of Eagle Bridge, NY, and Teresa Hawkey of Brevard, NC, a nephew: Christian Sebastian of Washington, an uncle: Jack Comp of Tucson, AZ and several cousins.

Marsha was preceded in death by her father: James R. Comp, Jr and a brother: Larry Dean Comp.

A Memorial service is being planned by the family to take place on a later date.


Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Cadillac.
