Margaret Sophia Mosher, age 98, of Lake City passed away Monday, November 14, 2016 at Autumnwood of McBain Nursing Home.
Margaret was born August 4, 1918 in Three Rivers, Michigan to Leslie and Elsie (Breseman) Locke. She was raised in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula lumbering camps close to Newberry
from the age of 4 until she was 24 years old.
She married James Mosher December 15, 1935 in Newberry and moved to the Lake City area. Jim preceded her in death in 1981.
Margaret accomplishment a great deal in her lifetime. In earlier years she worked at Rex Air and Goss Canvas in Cadillac and she was an avid bowler well into her 80’s. She enjoyed fishing and hunting. Margaret was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 300 Auxillary in Lake City and proudly marched with fellow members in parades. She loved to fly in an airplane and was very devoted to all her grandchildren.
Margaret is survived by two children: Marilyn (Leon) Newell of Muskegon and Robert Mosher Sr. of Lake City, as well as ten grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Besides her husband Jim, she was preceded in death by her parents, three children: James, Thomas and Frances, a grandson and four brothers.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the Young Funeral Home in Lake City with Rev. Donald VanDyke officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until service time.
Burial will be in the Lake City Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Legion Auxillary Post 300 in Lake City.
