Loris Kay Letts of McBain passed away on July 10, 2014 at Autumnwood of McBain. She was 75 years old. Loris was born on February 20, 1939 in Indiana to Wayne and Ida May (Young) Snyder. She lived in Breckenridge, MI, until moving to Lake City and graduated from Lake City Area Schools.

Loris had a passion for making many different kind of crafts. She received her Associates’ Degree from Montcalm Community College in 1988 in accounting. She was a member of the Rebekah Assembly Lodge of Michigan serving as a Noble Grand. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 22 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Arlo Wayne, and son Samuel.

She is survived by her son, Russell Letts of Lake City, and daughter Sheryl (Dean) Root of Manton. Grandchildren, Lance Corey, Brandon (Chelsea) Root, Kayla (Ivan) Jones , Cody and Devin Letts, also five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Memorial service will be held Monday July 14, 2014 at 6:30 pm at the Young Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Siler officiating. Visitation will be held 5:00 pm til time of service. There will be an appetizer reception following the service at the American Legion in Lake City. Burial will take place at a later time at the Lake City Cemetery. Memorial tributes may be made to American Legion Auxillary.
