Lonnie Duane Cowley

Lonnie Duane Cowley of Lake City passed away Saturday February 14, 2015 at his home. He was 85 years old.
He was born in Gaylord, MI on November 23, 1929 to Harold Milton and Ruth Matilda (Snyder) Cowley. He married Ingrid Rydquist on February 25, 1950 in Cadillac, MI at his wife’s parent’s home.
Lonnie worked for many years at the Cadillac Malleable Iron. He owned Lon’s Sport Shop selling guns and hunting accessories and Harvest Time Natural Foods, a wholesale distributor throughout Michigan. He also owned a farm east of Lake City and was actively involved in the Lake City Seventh-day Adventist Church. He enjoyed horseback riding, hunting, fishing, carpentry, singing, playing guitar and other musical instruments.
He is survived by his wife, Ingrid; daughter, Marcia Moore; two former daughter in laws, Kathy Vandenboss and Jane Morrow; seven grandchildren, Tammy R. Sisson, Tracey Moore, Chris Cowley, Jeremy Cowley, Brian Moore, Bradley Moore, and Kevin Moore; thirteen great grandchildren, Zakery, Kiara, Ingrid, Michael, Marisa, Allison, Tony, Cassidy, Kenny, Cyle, Mikayla, Tyler, Harmony; three great great grand children.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Ruth Cowley; brother, Dick Cowley; two sisters, Carol Smalley and Arbutus Kreye; and son, Ken Cowley.
Graveside service will be held in the spring at Hobart Lutheran Cemetery.
