Leo Harley Apps of Lake City passed away Thursday, April 2, 2015 at the Munson Health Care Cadillac Hospital. He was 97 years old.
Leo was born November 16, 1917 in Butterfield Township to Harley and Mabel (Rush) Apps.
He married the former Lucille Outman on September 5, 1940. They spent 58 years together before she passed away on March 3, 1999.
Leo graduated from Merritt High School and worked all his life farming at home and for the Davis family in Merritt.
After moving to the Lake City area he worked for Bailey’s junk yard and drove school bus in Merritt for 26 years and Lake City for 13 years.
Leo is survived by two children: David Apps and Helen (Bob) Williams both of Lake City, one grandson, Brian Williams of Cadillac, two step grandsons: Robert Brandon Williams and Adam Williams both of Cadillac and six step great grandchildren.
Leo was preceded in death by his parents Harley and Mabel Apps, two sisters Evelyn Creger and Helen Kitchenhoff, two brothers Robert and Floyd (Pat) Apps, sister in laws: Mina Morrow, Helen Meyer, Hazel Kregear and Alta Pickering and brother in laws: Ralph, Alfred and Bill Outman.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the Young Funeral Home with Rev. Eugene Baughan officiating. Burial will take place in the Lake City Cemetery.
