Lawrence Baker of Lake City passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at the Hilltop Manor Nursing Home in Roscommon. He was 89 years old.
Lawrence was born February 4, 1926 in Sparta, Tennessee to G.H. and Ova (Elrod) Baker.
He was married to the former Geraldine Hook in 1948.
Lawrence was proud to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1944 to 1946 during which time he received the Purple Heart.
He retired from Chrysler Automotive and was a member of the American Legion Post #300 in Lake City. He enjoyed hunting and especially cherished his grandchildren.
Surviving him are his four children, 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a twin sister.
Internment will take place on the family plot in the Baker Cemetery in Sparta, Tennessee.
